Happy Veteran’s Day!
It has been a couple weeks since I’ve posted but I wanted to take a brief moment to honor my fellow veterans and current members of our armed forces.
To all the men and women that have served our country, I thank you for your service. Our country has strayed far away from the ideals and freedoms that many of us swore to protect. Perhaps we will see a change soon.
I would also like to thank the numerous businesses that honor our service we gave to our country. You make this day special for us!
Today, I will be enjoying a nice meal with my son. Where we will go for our free veterans meal is still up in the air. It will be our brief period of peace before the Army-Navy game in December.
For those of you that do not know: My son and I are both veterans. Each of us served during a time of war or conflict yet neither of us are combat veterans. Keith is an Army Veteran and I am a Navy Veteran.
UPDATE: Thank you, Olive Garden! Really enjoyed the free meal and appreciated the sweet sentiments of the hostess as I was the first female veteran she had seated today.
